Solution videos are not the same as concept lessons
A concept lesson teaches a topic. A solution video works through a specific question from the NCERT textbook, step by step. Students use them in a very particular way: stuck on question 7 of an exercise the night before a test, they search for exactly that question.
That makes coverage, numbering and findability far more important than with concept lessons. A solution library that skips questions, or labels them so they cannot be found, gets abandoned quickly.
Check coverage by class, subject and exercise
Ask how many solution videos exist per chapter, and which subjects and classes they cover. Totals hide gaps: a library can be strong in Class 12 Physics and thin in Class 11 Chemistry.
For reference, our own question-solution videos cover Science for Class 9 to 12, about 1,700 videos in total, of which about 1,375 are for Class 11 and 12 Physics, Chemistry and Biology. They sit alongside the concept lessons for each chapter: NCERT solutions video content.
Match the textbook edition and question numbering
Solution videos are tied to the exact wording and numbering of the textbook. When NCERT revises a book, or CBSE drops chapters from its syllabus, question numbers can shift and some videos no longer match what students see on the page.
Ask which edition each class was mapped to, and plan how you will label or hide videos for chapters your learners no longer study.
Ask how accuracy is checked
A wrong step in a worked solution teaches the wrong method with full confidence. Ask who reviews the working and the final answers, and watch solutions from the hardest exercises rather than the first few questions of a chapter. Check units, significant figures and diagrams as well as the final answer.
Confirm format, resolution and captions
Find out the file format and resolution so you can plan storage and playback; solution videos are often recorded differently from concept lessons (ours are 720p MP4, while our concept lessons are 1024×768). Check whether captions and transcripts are included, because they make solutions searchable and usable without sound.
Plan how students will find a specific question
The best solution library fails if students cannot find question 7 of exercise 3.2. Ask for consistent naming or a metadata sheet (class, subject, chapter, exercise, question) that you can import into your app or LMS, and design search around it from day one.
Licence and pricing
Check whether solution videos are licensed with the main library or separately, and whether the same rights apply: branding, where you may sell them, and whether you can resell them to other companies. Our solution videos are part of the complete library on the same one-time licence: see pricing.
Quick answers
Videos that work through the questions in NCERT textbooks step by step, so a student can see the full method for a specific question.
Solution videos follow the exact numbering and wording of a textbook edition. If the book changes, some videos may no longer match the questions students see.
It depends on the supplier. At Edupotion they are part of the complete library on the same one-time licence.
